      State Highlights

      • Rhode Island Virtual Learning Regulations (2012) require all learners in RI to have access to online courses.
      • While RI does not require online courses to graduate, student individualized learning plans should reflect engagement in virtual learning opportunities.
      • The Virtual Learning Regulations also require that local graduation policies not limit access or prohibit online coursework from fulfilling graduation requirements and do not regulate the number of providers with which a student can enroll.
