      This year, the 2014 Digital Learning Report Card features individual State Policy Profiles, examining some of the 422 pieces of digital learning legislation enacted over the past four years. Utah’s 2013 Student Achievement Backpack (UT SB 82) is featured as an example of data backpack policies. To learn more, read the State Policy Profile for Utah in the full Report Card.

      • The Statewide Online Education Program saw enrollment increases of more than 300% last year, based on number of course requests of any credit value.
      • In part this was due to extension of eligibility to home and private school students.
      • Most students choose to enroll in maximum allowable number of credits.

      DLN Report Card Preview: Student Achievement Backpacks in Utah

      Utah’s Data Backpacks will give parents and educators a comprehensive view of each student’s progress and achievement so they can work with the student to create a personalized learning plan. Through these portable records, teachers and parents will be able to track student progress – not just in one class, but in every course on a student’s personalized plan.
