Course Access Roundup: The Fordham Institute

In July, ExcelinEd published Leading in an Era of Change in collaboration with EducationCounsel. The whitepaper discusses the challenges facing Course Access programs, and offers recommendations to help states identify, assess, and monitor clear indicators of program effectiveness. The Fordham Institute has also been engaged in the encouraging Course Access, and published Expanding the Education Universe: A Fifty-State Strategy for Course Choice in May. The Fordham Institute whitepaper explains the course access system and specific paths states can take to implement course access.

Yesterday, the Fordham Institute’s Michael Brickman reviewed ExcelinEd’s Leading in an Era of Change combing lessons learned from both ExcelinEd’s and the Fordham Institute’s publications on Course Access. In his review, Michael Brickman points out that “taken together, these two reports act as a guidebook for expanding course availability and student choice in local schools.” Be sure to read the full write-up from Michael Brickman and the Fordham Institute here and visit additional resources on Course Access from ExcelinEd and Digital Learning Now here.
